Someone spent 3 or 4 hours crawling the forums yesterday. It did 40625 hits and downloaded almost 750 MB!! He/she was connected from an ADSL modem at *.pacbell.net .
Please understand that we provide the forums for free, the software for free, and the tech support for free. But what is free for you costs money and time for us.
And with those 4 hours crawling, we have to pay an extra fee to our web hosting company because aprelium.com used yesterday more than the allowed bandwidth per day.
That's why the forums are now available only to registered users. Guests cannot view or browse them unless they register. _________________ Support Team

I kid you not but I would have probably made the same move if it cures the problem. Did you post a notice for others who never even seen the forums before?
It might help to post a notice if possible letting others know the forums are alive and banging but abuse has caused such a lock down... Just a suggestion. _________________ Victor B. Gonzalez

If you are a guest, you will still see the front page of the forums. When you click on one of them, you will be asked for your login/password and invited to register if not already a memeber. You can try to logout and verify how all that works. _________________ Support Team

I've been meaning to ask this question for a while now. Is it possible to increase the cookie timeout session? I log in and it takes about 5 minutes to get kicked off. Can you increase it to a half hour or higher?
Thanks Aprelium _________________ Victor B. Gonzalez

I didn't mean 5 minutes (I exaggerated) but I like to browse the board, learn and participate... Most times since I have a multi-tab browser I usually leave a reference to the forums opened.
A couple times I've got cut off in replying to both public post and private messages. I'd like it if their was a trick to staying logged in. Otherwise I would like to ask if you can increase the timeout. Its not a big deal and is just a request/suggestion.
Thanks for any feedback Aprelium :) _________________ Victor B. Gonzalez

i have run phpBB before and the only thing a user can do to stay logged in is click the box "Stay logged in" before you click the sign in button... from that point on everything is in the hands of the administrator... _________________

You know what I hardly ever seen it... I use roboform an automatic form filler for web forms and I usually log in using it. I guess roboform kept missing it because I forgot to click it as an option... Thanks for the tip :) _________________ Victor B. Gonzalez
