I"m making a mock up of a website. a prototype, i was wondering if anyone can see it and tell me what they think. Its pretty basic so be gentle i just wanted to see if abyss could handle. cause sometimes it seems that i can access it and others can't. I'm not sure if its zone alarm or not.
Please try it out and try submiting random info to the form as well please. Just want to see your input. Thank you all, |

It works; good job.
The globe in the background seems too tacky for me. Half the text you can't read, and all the colors you chose don't look very good (especially when using Times New Roman).
Overall, it needs some work. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

I agree background is to tacky with the overlay. =\
although it may look nice if used as a banner of some sort.
the blue text with blue black background is hard on the eyes. -.-''
nice start
also, think about switching firewalls, I dont suggest not leaving it off |

thank you guys for you honesty i appreacitate that over ass kissing. seems like zonealarm is the problem then. its a basic site, i'm not as good as some of you guys, just kinda hacked it togather. ppl aren't gonna be on the site that long. its really there just to establish a web presence. Thanks a lot. what do you suggest as an alternative to zone alarm. cause this is obvioulsy the problem |

ALways think highly of ur site, never think of it being low! :(
takes practice and time to get better with time..
Now for firewalls.-
hm, For free, I think the other largest alternative is sygate(non pro.. or u could find a key for the pro, heh). theirs a few small ones, but not good ones. |

ZoneAlarm kills your Abyss... What operating system are you using?
Because I after testing different firewalls, I've found that only the built-in firewalls to Windows Server 2003 and XP are the only ones that will let server traffic pass through.... |

I can't recommend Kerio Personal Firewall enough - it's grown from a very basic firewall into an all in solution including adblocking and IDS, in the style of Norton Internet Security. It's totally free for personal use - but to get the most of it you'll need an understanding of ports/ip's etc as it provides a lot more control than Zonealarm.

Abyss traffic isn't the only traffic that will pass through.
The built-in firewall is basically crap. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Well either way.
I don't recommend using ZoneAlarm with running a webserver.
You could with the older releases. But in recent editions, they have pretty much locked down your computer I think?
All I know is I use the firewall that comes with Windows Server 2003 for now. I'm waiting for my Cisco PIX firewall.
ZoneAlarm I good. Just too good sometimes! :)
All you really want a firewall to do is reject all traffic except for the one you want to let through, which is pretty much what I have done with mine. |
