I have Windows XP Pro running on my computer, including two hard drives. The partitions I have are C, E, and F. E and F are the same hard drive, partitioned. Each has about 26 free GB. I would like to know if I can install Windows 2k Pro on the F drive, and create a dual boot, even though I already have XP Pro. Also, if it does work, I would like to know how to indicate the setup in Windows 2k Pro to install to my F drive. If I reformat the F drive and install Windows 2k Pro on it, would it work? Or would it affect my E drive (since it's the same hard drive, with a partition)? Thanks in advance to any replies.

its possible, but it could be laggy if you dont have the processor, or the computer for it. You can try if you want..then you can always wipe your drives and start over....

It won't work. You need to have 2K installed before installing XP. I would explain why, but the easiest way to say it is that's just the way it has to be or it won't work lol.

vnar356, I found this on Micro$oft:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/administration/management/mltiboot.asp?
I also found this:
http://www.win.net/optimator/WinWiz/AD/Reprints/DualBoot.htm

yalrighty is right. You have to install Win2k BEFORE WinXP.
Hope that helps.
