I am having a difficult time setting up my DNS. I am using (Domain Names International, Inc.) And they are very little help. My Nameservers are set up correctly, and I am using http://WhatIsMYIP.com to get my IP address, can anyone help me with setting my IP in Edit zone. They are telling me (Thank you for contacting support. Presently you have your domain listed as your IP. You must insert either a web forward account or a static IP address that you own.) I am setting mysite.com to IP address ***.***.***.** from WhatIsMYIP.com My site will only come up using the http://127.0.0.1/
In the Control Panel TCP/IP Properties I have my IP set to the address I am getting from WhatIsMYIP.com do need to put anything in for Host, the Domain is set for http://mysite.com
I would appreciate any help.

The message you received from Domain Names International (DNI) says you must either insert a web forward account or a static IP address. This probably mean you can't use DNI for dynamic IP address.
If you have your own website with your Internet Service Provider (ISP), it seems that you can forward all requests to that website. The other alternative is static IP address. This IP address is yours and your ISP would have informed you about what this IP address is. If this is the case, you should insert this IP address with DNI.
If you are using some sort of dialup modem or xDSL solution where your IP address changes from time to time, perhaps DNI is not the solution for you ?? |
