I have a access database displaying results in my website on the news section and when I press preview it says it has to be on a server that supports asp. I have downloaded and installed asp and gone through all the steps at aprelium to set the server up. When i go to look at my site through the server it displays the correct page but with this error message half way down where the database should appear
"The Database Results component on this page is unable to display database content. The page must have a filename ending in '.asp', and the web must be hosted on a server that supports Active Server Pages."
The file does end in .asp and does have asp installed! What is wrong? _________________ M.Carpenter

max_carpenter,
We've used FrontPage to generate a web site with the Database Wizard and their sample database. Everything went fine.
When testing the site on the server, we got the error message
Code: |
Database Results Error
The database connection named 'Sample' is undefined.
This problem can occur if:
* the connection has been removed from the web
* the file 'global.asa' is missing or contains errors
* the root folder does not have Scripting permissions enabled
* the web is not marked as an Application Root
|
To solve the problem, we have:
* launched ActiveHTML Configuration tool
* pressed Connect
* pressed Read
* Selected the "Directory aliases" tab
* entered in alias /asptest (the virtual path of the test web app on our server) and C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\htdocs\asptest (its real path on the hard drive)
* pressed "Add/Delete"
* pressed "Save"
* Closed the tool
With these steps, the FrontPage generated web site worked fine.
If our advice does not help, please send to support@aprelium.com your FrontPage generated application and your abyss.conf file (please zip all the files in a single package). Let us know also what is the path of the directory where the test app is installed on your hard drive and the exact error message you get. _________________ Support Team
