Though I've edited my php.ini file to turn off register_globals:

register_globals = off

it still shows up as being turned on:

http://www.garyandlynn.com/home/phpinfo2.php

I also don't understand why the above reports that php.ini is in two places (/PHP5 and /C:/windows). It was not in C:/windows to start with but I placed an identical copy there to see if it made any difference. It did not.

I have removed the copy of php.ini that I placed in C:/windows and reloaded the phpinfo2.php above with the same results...register_globals is still "on".

My apps keep throwing warnings about register_globals being turned on and I've set it off in every php.ini that I can find on my PC server.

Any thoughts about how to resolve this and get register_globals to be off?

Thank you.

gsownsby,

Please try the following steps:

1/ Set "register_globals" to "off" in the PHP5\php.ini file
2/ Close all PHP running instances
3/ Restart Abyss Web Server
4/ Retry

Aprelium Support,

Thanks for your reply.

After a bit of head-scratching, I noted that although I had made the changes to the php.ini file, the changes did not take. It turned out to be a case of permissions on the php.ini file itself. When I changed the permissions to enable changes to the file, the changes took and register_globals turned off.

I was also able to adjust the timeout limit limit so that another problem I had reported with Coppermine Photo Gallery running on Abyss/PHP was resolved. See:

So thanks for your help. We're cooking now!
