Hi

This may seem like a rather stupid question, but seeing I was primarily a windows user and not Linux, here goes:

I have a linux box setup. How do you open port 80? I installed abyss, and ran it. When ever I try to use port 80 it says either its in use or not available. Fine, no other apps are using it. So if it is closed how can I open it? Do I have to be at another machine to login to port 80? I didnt with apache. Any help is greatly thanked!

On Linux, Abyss Web Server default web server port is 8000 and not 80. This information is printed on the console when the program starts.
To switch to the port 80, you should run as root (as regular users do not have usually the right to use ports below 1024) and then change in the console the web port to 80.
