Do you use a router? Also, your ISP probably blocks port 80. Change the port in the console to another port, like 21208, and append it at the end of your IP. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

My friend on MSN told me that the File Manager
does work , you have to set it up for FTP usage.
Basicly , the FTP server is the directory for
the files , it works through FTP , I will help
you when my friend helps me. Ok ! |

ZPanel connects to an external FTP Server you have running. You must install an FTP Server (search the forum for recommendations, such as FileZilla), and I can help you install it and configure it.
Tell me if you want to do it. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

And you are using the FTP Server?
You need to connect through 127.0.0.1 when it prompts you what server to connect to. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

ok did that 127.0.0.1 and port 21.
now i get:
Unable to login to FTP server 127.0.0.1 with username admin.
Are you sure your username and password are correct? Please contact your ISP helpdesk or system administrator for help.
Drilldown: ftp_openconnection > ftp_login: conn_id=Resource id #2; net2ftp_username=admin.
so is there anyway to find my username cause i set my username for my webserver as admin and i still get this. _________________ Abyss is Great. Please visit my site at http://coolpagesforum.com

Ok, once in the FTP Server, set up a user account. Click on the icon of a head, and on the right under "Users," click "Add." Make your user with a password, and add a home directory that is the same as the root directory of your website \htdocs. Now keep in mind, the user and pass needs to be the same as the user and pass that you use for ZPanel.
Once you have that running, open up your ZPanel, and log in as Admin. Once in as admin, click on the "Administration" link on the left, and click on "User Management." Under FTP Server, you can type "localhost" to make it easy. Then, you need to create a ZPanel account with the same username and password you used for FileZilla. You can then log in with that new account and click on "File Manager" to browse the FTP! _________________ Bienvenidos! |

When you are in the User Configuration in FileZilla, and hit "Add" under access rights. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\htdocs and hit "Ok." Then, you can check all the boxes under "Files" and "Directores," and hit "Set as home directory." That's it. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

I think I fixed it. You put a port number after your FTP, which you didn't need to do. Now I wasn't actually able to access the FTP, because I don't think you have an FTP account set up with a username admin and a password adminpass. If you would like, you can set up one, and I can see if it truly works. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

And it works!
So remember, when you create a user in ZPanel, you must also create a user in FileZilla with the same exact username and password you used for ZPanel.
Good luck with your website.
Note: You can delete the accounts (the other admin and the guest) if you don't need them. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

This probably has more to do with the permissions you set in FileZilla. Go and make sure that you have enabled the user to read, write, et cetera. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Is "temp" another directory that people can access?
If you enable the root directory, it will do the same for all sub directories. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

You cannot "chmod" in Windows.
Add the directory in the list of directories in FileZilla, and then add the necessary permissions. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

i still get this:
Unable to get the file /index.html from the FTP server and to save it as temporary file C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\htdocs\host\filemanager\temp\rea8003.TMP.
Check the permissions of the C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\htdocs\host\filemanager/temp directory.
Drilldown: ftp_readfile > ftp_get: conn_id=Resource id #283; tempfilename=C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\htdocs\host\filemanager\temp\rea8003.TMP, source=/index.html, ftpmode=0.
can you please explain step by step how to do this. _________________ Abyss is Great. Please visit my site at http://coolpagesforum.com

Ah, I see. You have made a directory in that folder called "temp," right?
You then need to add that directory into the list of directories in the user preferences of FileZilla, and check every box allotted to it (read, write, append, execute, everything). Then try it.
If that doesn't work, then I'm out of ideas. Sorry. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Now, I would try it in a different client. Go to any Windows Explorer window, and type ftp://yourip into the address bar. Then, enter your username and password. Try to do the same thing you did in ZPanel, and see if it works. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

The FTP Server works, and creating a page works fine for me. All done in ZPanel. See for yourself:
http://coolpages.zapto.org/demo/hi.html
EDIT: It has come to my attention that your base website, http://coolpagesforum.com/, is running Apache Web Server on a Professional Hosting Company. While there is nothing wrong with doing that, it isn't right that you advertise an Apache website in an Abyss forum. I looked for signs that I could be wrong, such as URL Redirection, Masking, and Frames, I saw nothing. I did notice that coolpages.zapto.org was in fact hosted on Abyss, but I still don't know why your other isn't.
Moxxnixx is credited to pointing this out. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

ok sorry i was not hosting that site. Someone is hosting for me for free. I didn't know about it sorry. i am not really advertising. If you want i can remove it from my footer.
So there is just one problem i am having! I CAN'T UPLOAD. I get an error.
